Vision Statement:
The vision for the Homeless Assistance by Holy Spirit Ministries
Food Basket (HSMFB) is that all homeless individuals and families in Durham Region will be provided emergency food, clothing,
shelter, transitional and permanent housing, and supportive services through a collaborative structure that effectively coordinates
services, shares information, increases funding and eliminates duplication and gaps in services.

FAITH:
The
Scriptures
We
believe the Bible to be the divinely inspired and authoritative Word of God. As such, it is absolutely supreme and all-sufficient
in all matters of faith and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly
equipped for every good work.”
New
Birth
We
believe that God, out of His great love for the world, gave His only begotten Son Jesus to be the saviour of mankind.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish
but have everlasting life. Romans 10:9 “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart
that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Baptism
of the Holy Spirit
We
believe that it is the privilege of all believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking with other
tongues; an experience distinct to the new birth. Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and
began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
Divine
Healing
We
believe that divine healing is provided in the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of all believers. James 5:14
“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him
with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.”
The
Great Commission
We
believe that every Christian has a commission from God to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:19 “Go
therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
